We had a fantastic experience boarding my Collie and my rescue dog at Burnside Pet Retreat! Being a COVID dog and a rescue, my two aren't the most approachable—especially our rescue, who has only ever trusted us.
Our Collie settled in right away, and to our surprise, it only took a day for our rescue to warm up to the staff. When we picked them up, it was clear they had both been well cared for and had a great time. They happily went up to each team member to say goodbye, and we even saw our rescue cuddling the staff—something we’ve never seen before. (As mentioned, he’s never been close to anyone but us.)
In short, both dogs came home happy, healthy, and maybe even a little spoiled. The staff was incredibly friendly and professional, and I felt completely confident leaving our dogs in their care. The facility was clean, well-maintained, safe/secure and clearly run by people who love animals.
Highly recommend Burnside Pet Retreat—we’ll definitely be back!

I could not recommend Burnside Pet Retreat more! I had never used kennels before, but the dogs love them. They pull to get in, and when they come back, they've been well taken care of. My dogs love all the staff and I feel comfortable leaving them there when we are away. Burnside are very diligent and ensures all vaccinations are kept up to date. They are great at communicating when you're booking or have questions.

Such an amazing experience so far, my dog just turned 5 and has never stayed at someone else’s house let alone a kennels. I was very nervous and did not know what to expect. I first went to burnside pet retreat to visit and meet the staff I had a million questions and they were so patient and understanding and answered all of them I am so grateful and was put to ease. We have done so far a couple of hours during the day, and one over night stay before we leave for two weeks I can honestly say even though I am very sad to leave her, I know she will have so much fun and will have the best care. She has been so excited going in to see everyone and they make her so happy. A big thank you to everyone at Burnside Pet Retreat for not only looking after her but making this a great experience for me to.

Extremely friendly staff who took time to get to know our dog. By far the best kennels we have used and we travel over an hour but it’s worth it. Our pup obviously loved her time there and didn’t really want to leave. We have a high energy working dog and she was obviously well exercised. She came home happy and calm and her bedding was even washed. Cannot recommend enough.

What an amazing place this is. We have just picked up Mia our rottweiler after a 15 day stay and she loved it. She was excited to see us but also didn't want to leave. Stevie and Kerry and their wee team have looked after and spoiled her so much that she wanted to stay. Lovely staff cleanliness is spot on. There is not another place I would put my dog. If Mia could talk she would be singing their praises for days to come. A big thank you from us and of course Mia. She will definitely be back and I will be recommending you to anyone that asks. Due to my health issues and being hospitalised I had to put my dogs into Burnside Pet Retreat where they remained for 6 weeks. Ruth, Wayne, Kerry, Steve and the team were amazing and went over and above to help me and my dogs during an incredibly difficult period. My dogs had never been in Kennels before but due to the love and care provided by the Team they settled in quickly and became part of the Burnside family.
Knowing my dogs were settled and being well cared for helped me to focus on my health battle.
I would highly recommend Burnside Pet Retreat to anyone looking for first class care and facilities for their dogs. They are simply the best and I have already recommended Burnside to all my friends and family. ❤️🩵

First time dog owners, so we were very apprehensive sending our pup to boarding. Particularly over the Christmas period. But this has been a wonderful experience for us and our 5m old Golden Retriever, Charlie. Ruth, Abbie & Kerry and another gentleman (whose name I didn’t get) have been absolutely fantastic. Very reassuring, knowledgeable. contact via WhatsApp so they were able to send photos and updates. The fact it’s owned by vets is of great reassurance for us. We will continue to use Burnside Pet Retreat. Thanks to all!

After my old kennel team of over 20 years retired, I started to think about finding a new place that would offer great service, clear communication and a happy atmosphere / home for my two dachshunds. I discovered Burnside Pet Retreat and arranged to visit to take a look. I was very impressed with the team and their facilities - including a big security gate and full CCTV. Ruth, Kerry and the team are so lovely and helpful as well as caring and my two treasures are very happy to just trot in and clearly feel the love / enjoy cuddles. Absolutely recommend Burnside Pet Retreat - just make sure we can still find a room for us please! ❤️

Burnside looked after our four dogs when we went on holiday. They weren’t just looked after when we were away, they were loved.
The Team got to know our dogs and spent a lot of time playing, walking and just being in their company.
The affection they had for our dogs was mutual and it was obvious how much our dogs enjoyed their company and trusted them.
Lovely staff and well looked after.

Burnside pet retreat has been great. They managed to take our Springer Spaniel (Astrid) at short notice in July after being let down elsewhere and she has been back 2 more times since then. The booking and communication process is easy and straightforward and the deposit process is fair. Astrid has always been a little nervous around big dogs that bark a lot, which is expected in kennels, but the team must make her feel so at ease because she is always excited to go back. The last time we dropped her off she started crying and jumping around the boot because she couldn't wait to go in - that's the best review you can get! Absolutely recommend the team at Burnside who clearly care about our furry ones.

Our dogs had the best holiday ever. It was the first time in the kennels for them, so we were unsure as to how they would be.
The staff at Burnside Pet Retreat were absolutely amazing and made sure the dogs were well looked after and kept comfortable throughout their two-week stay.

Excellent kennels, completely trust them looking after our girlie. We did a one night tester night which was fantastic and knew she would be fine then she was in for 12 nights. You can tell she loved Kerry and all the staff and has been very well looked after under their care. I highly recommend using this kennel and to go on holiday relaxed knowing your doggie is cared for to the highest standard. Very clean and can tell they care very much about the job they do.

Highly recommend for your feline fur babies
The online service and response time is great and they are very accommodating with dates. Had to book at last minute during start of school holidays and Ruth could not be more helpful.
Great facilities with country view. Clean and lots of space. The cat carers are very attentive, friendly and all round caring staff.
Perfect getaway for your fur friends.

I have just collected my pride and joy up from a wee overnight stay at Burnside and I am delighted with the service received. Anyone that knows me knows how much my wee dog means to me as many others will feel and to leave her is very difficult. I was very apprehensive and worried and all for nothing Piper seems to have had the best time enjoyed playing outside and was extremely happy when I went in to pick her up. She was even giving the staff kisses before we went home. She is now booked in for another visit Happy dog Happy mum Thanks to everyone for looking after her and keeping her safe for me I appreciate that so much..
Piper is looking forward to seeing you all again!
